As a mother of two young boys, I understand my customers' concerns about the seemingly endless series of recalls in children’s toys due to lead paint, faulty design and poor manufacturing. At one point I sat sorting through my boys' ever growing pile of toys, figuring out which items had been recalled, and wondering what would be next on the list. Then it dawned on me: not only do my children not need all of this cheaply made “stuff”, but they don’t even play with half of it.
It was at that moment that I started my quest. I searched high and low for quality made toys that not only encouraged my children’s natural sense of imagination and learning, but were also safe for them to play with. After an exhaustive search, I decided to share those finds with our parents here at Teeni Banini. Many of the toys offered here are manufactured in the US & Europe, and all of them are overseen by very tight monitoring and extensive testing. The manufacturers rank in the top categories for eco & ethically friendly production, and offer letters to verify their commitment to quality and testing.
The costs of these toys are surprisingly low, given their quality and the rigorous testing standards enforced by the manufacturers. And for me, it was a realization that playtime wouldn’t be spurred by the latest and greatest action figure with 40 different accessories or that new stunt car that does everything. I believe playtime should be about imagination and learning, creativity and roll playing. So this holiday season we ask that you not give in to the hype. It’s not about how many presents are handed out. Find a few quality made toys for your children, and watch their imaginations blossom.
